6 defence is not bad, add bolster to that and you have a 1 point troop with 7 defence and 5 attack.
Seems pretty exellent at defending a god on a cliff since they can climb.
Would make that god pretty hard to put down due to their guard ability.

And in the meanwhile you could send your strong units forth to destroy the enemies and gather omphalos. (or have a fast weak unit do that while protected by them)

I don't think any gods have Climb except maybe Pan. There are very few Guard + Climb units in the game though, so these guys will be great to defend weak climbers.

I believe Artemis has climb too.

Right you are. Yeah, at any rate, most gods won't be hanging out on cliffs but still useful for those 2 and maybe a few heroes/monsters.
