Too bad the sculpt isn't that great - because Talos is a very good unit.
Together with Geryon, Talos is the perfect Bodyguard in MB:P. Next to 10 defense, his various attacks and throw ability should be able to keep your God or other unit he protects safe for a long, long time.
Will definitely appear in my army list on a regular basis!!

I really wish he looked more refined, now he just looks like a larger version of the golems.
His artwork looks better than the sculpt I must say.

Talos doesn't have a single down side as far as I can tell. Move 1 is not optimal, but not unusual either. He's insanely resilient and quite strong in combat, plus his Titanic Strength power is ridiculously powerful and only costs 1 AoW! And he doesn't have reduced activations as I would have expected from him, especially given how powerful he is.
For 4RP, I can't imagine any reason you wouldn't want to recruit him unless you reeeaally need all your RP for a specific strategy or mobility is a key factor.

I think he should be a 5 point unit, he seems too strong for a 4 pointer.

Exactly! I wouldn't mind paying an extra RP for this guy. His Titanic Strength power needs a rework too... No way an attack that hits most of the board with above-average dice should cost 1 AoW.

Yes, for every ruin or tree on the board he can basically do a 7 dice attack on every enemy unit?? "Titanic" strength indeed - even for a titan that would be a little too powerful! I expect the range to be drastically reduced and/or the AoW cost to be increased.MaxC wrote:Exactly! I wouldn't mind paying an extra RP for this guy. His Titanic Strength power needs a rework too... It would be too bad if he became 5RP, I already recruited him in my team! ^^

Re: Talos : The Bronze Giant [HEP]
In reference to this being too powerful for a titan, this is actually a better version of Enceladus' 3 AoW attack. It has 1 less dice but has a way larger area (Enceladus' version is range 1). For a third of the AoW cost. From a 4RP monster. I have a feeling this was meant to be similar to Herakles's throw but the wording went wrong.

Re: Talos : The Bronze Giant [HEP]
I though also that Titanic Strength was way too powerful (still do).
But I have just realized that it needs a piece of terrain (column, tree) so it is like herculean strength attack. It makes no sense this attack can hit enemies in different areas. So I would reword the power to range 3 area attack that deals only damage to enemy units (not allies).
Quite the nerf
Exactly like Heracles at the same cost (4RP unit, 1AoW attack).

About the mini: I would have loved this kind of texture (cracked rock and lava inside) for Atlas (or generally for Titans) and a more metallic/bronze texture of Talos.
Let's see how it turns up after painting...

Not sure if it makes much of a difference, but Talos has 3 (not 4) activation cards according to Leo during his Hephaestus live.

Guys it obviously is meant to hit one area not every area. Not even gods have that kind of attack.

Yes, this sounds far more reasonable. Still not bad at all.Telgar wrote:Confirmed by Quickworthy:QW wrote:the Talos Power is supposed to be the same as Herakles. So one area, not all.
This would indeed bring Talos back to a - still very decent - 4RP monster. And as he is of great use as a Guard (10 defense ...! You need 5+5 to wound him! Even Typhon will need quite a number of turns to get him down) his number activations is less important when on the defense. I'd still take him whenever I need a strong bodyguard!Jorge Castro wrote:Not sure if it makes much of a difference, but Talos has 3 (not 4) activation cards according to Leo during his Hephaestus live.

Range 3 area attack with 7 dice for 1 AoW. Still really good! As for 3 activations, I kind of thought 4 was a little odd for Talos, so I'm glad that was changed.
He's still a great guard as Teowulff pointed out, and he can still give a good beating if need be.
