In the pics its a bit flat but on one of Leo's videos it seemed to be looking better, so i wonder what it will be like when it gets here.

Not bad at first glance. Charybdis is a Area attack monster with a very healthy Vitality pool of 12. For 1 AoW card she makes two area attacks of 5 and 6 dice through a number of areas, a bit like the charge power of the Boar, Bull, Minotaur and Tityos. Alternatively she skips one area attack and makes a 10 dice attack vs a single target.
Fortunately for her opponent she only has 3 activations. It's also not stated that her area attacks only target enemy units - so how useful is Chaybdis actually? As her stats and powers are now, I can't say that she's a very versatile unit for the 5RP you have to spend on her. Not recommended with her current abilities.

I disagree. I think she is one of the most powerful units in the game, especially considering that she uses so few AoW for such a high power level.
You have to realize that her charge comes with a guaranteed mighty throw effect on all units. That makes her insanely strong. And it doesn't cost an AoW card. Charybdis can basically throw the entire enemy army into complete disarray.
Not to mention her Abyssal Maw is basically a very cheap but only somwhat weaker version of Enceladus' explosion. 6 die area attack on all adjacent areas for just one AoW is just insane. You can literally charge her right into the enemy with impunity and all they can do is run in terror and hope to be able to deal with her obscene stats (10/9 with 1 range!!) with a big time killer.

Both her powers can be used in the same turn for a total cost of 1 AoW. This means getting a 5 dice attack that you can follow up with a 6 dice attack on everything you just threw plus whatever units were adjacent to begin with, or if you really want a particular target dead, with a 10 dice attack. I wonder if it acts like Mighty Throw on units holding Omphalos. In that case, you could prevent your opponent from gathering all the Omphalos to one spot by sending the units in one direction and the Omphalos in the other.
As for whether the area attack affects your own units, I believe area attack means it only affects enemies, and if it says "attack all units in area" it affects both enemies and friendlies. In this case, Groundswell affects your units too, but Abyssal Maw does not.

I think they said Area attack affects allies. They specify attack all enemies for attacks that only hit enemies.
Also, the area attack has to be used before his charge because the latter specifies that it ends his activation.

Is there any reason Charybdis can't do her regular 10d attack then Groundswell? Does this effectively give Charybdis the "mobility" talent?

Re: Charybdis : The Gaping Abyss [POS]
Well, I still find the 3 Activation Cards an Achilles' Heel (so to speak). Manticore and Bellerophon have 5. Put some Rapture or Petrify or other token on her - and she only has 2 activations left. And so on.
Apparently her Groundswelll skill doesn't affect flying units, so picking a few may help decreasing her threat.
But yes, for 1 AoW she basically can do 2 area attacks or 1 normal + 1 area attack, which is pretty destructive. She can be countered, though, so it's not always so that she's worth her 5RP. I certainly wouldn't pick her as first unit after picking my God.

Probably one of the easiest mini to paint.
It looks like the top part can turn.
The Groundswell power seems very powerful. I can imagine bringing Chrarybdis to the center of the map and move Omphalos closer to your gods and pushing enemies away. Is the effect similar to mighty throw ? Do you steal claimed omphalos from enemies ?
