I'm guessing one of the key words portrayed to the Artist was "Maniacal"

Re: Scylla : Lady of Tentacles [POS]
Scylla is a bit of a weird one. Basically she has 4 tentacle troops units in adjacent areas with 4/5 stats that she can freely take with her wherever she goes. Just like regular troops she can recall them for 1 AoW card when they die.
Scylla herself only has an unmodified 7/8 stat and 9 Vitality. Although her tentacles can be in her own area they can't really protect her (no Guard talent) it seems best to just attack her, either with ranged attacks or melee. Fortunately for her she can also acivate her tentacles for free, otherwise she would probably lose a fight with a melee oriented 3RP unit with Block like the Sphinx, Python, Orion and such.
If she hadn't Mighty Throw to keep her attackers at a distance she would be rather vulnerable. Probably the best thing to do is make ranged attacks, for instance with Eurytus or Apollo. Or send a hero like Perseus at her.
She's a very special unit but I'm not yet convinced she is worth the 5RP she costs.
Good in a water map, though.

She certainly looks wonderfull and with those tentacles is a creative highlight of this campaign I must say. They really went above and beyond.

Very nice mini(s). I can see myself using the tentacles in other contexts than MB:P (RPG).
I feel it's a weakness: as the game progress, it will be expensive to maintain so many tentacles on the board.
Choose carefully Scylla's deployment position to have the all 8 tentacles. (So with at least 3 adjacent areas - I guess it is not difficult).
As 2 tentacles takes the space of 1 unit, you cannot really use them to fill up areas.
The tentacles have 0 move but being aquatic units, they have +1 move in water, no ? So they can follow Scylla with a 3 move in water, then move another space.
Flooding the board with tentacles is a tactic: enemy's units stop their move in controlled areas. They don't have block however so they can't paralyze the enemy's movements.
Tactic idea : move quickly to the center of the board, slow down enemies with some tentacles (Scylla + 4 for instance) and use the remaining tentacles (4) to grab omphalos (2) for the God.
With 4 groups of 2 tentacles, Scylla's turn can be up to a 7-dice attack (range 1), followed by 4 4-dice individual attacks (range 0 so 4 different targets I guess).
Pretty nice but I feel that 5 RP is a bit too costly for this.
Not really because she can only recall 2 tentacles for 1 AoW.Teowulff wrote:Just like regular troops she can recall them for 1 AoW card when they die.

2 tentacles count as 1 unit, so it's exactly like recalling a troop. I don't think people will really target the tentacles too much, seeing as they can be brought back so easily and won't be a priority target most of the time. And if they do focus the tentacles, then that'll keep them busy for a while and allow the rest of your army to do their thing.

Scylla is a puzzling unit. Too bad I didn't put her in my list of test units.MaxC wrote:2 tentacles count as 1 unit, so it's exactly like recalling a troop. Recalling tentacles for an AoW is costly, so it's not useless to attack them. When you attack her and she pulls her tentacles into her area to help out, area attacks may be handy. Perhaps one of the charging monsters, the Phoenix. Of course Echidna and Perseus, Bellerophon and other Monster Slayers - although the tentacles don't count as monsters. Ladon, that attacks everything that attacks him - for free - and his range 1 area attack, a bit the same as the Hydra's. The chargers, especially those that have an extra area attack.
