Great sculpt and also a very usefull unit with his healing and area attack, and neither cost art of war cards. While he brings none he also requires none, and has five activations which is pretty big.
With that climbing and area attack he seems pretty great at clearing out some units holed up on a cliff.

Not really a fan of the Zombie Gorilla Werewolf look ...
Lycaon is a beast! Power-wise he is stronger than many 3RP heroes. 6/7 + Torment and his Rage ability (probably going to cost 1AoW) makes his damage output ridiculous for a 2 RP unit. Add to that his healing ability when he kills something (like a Troop?) and 5 activations and he will be annoying enough to make your opponent spend some attention on him.
And yes, with 2 movement and climb it's hard to hide for this rabid were-bloodhound.
Good and useful unit!

To be used against troop-heavy comps. Is the enemy god hiding in a cluster of cheap guards? Just throw Lycaon in there and let him tear them apart. Being able to heal 2 vitality at once is huge. Unless they add a cost to Rage, he's really self-sufficient too!
Rage is everything in range, so you may want to get him onto a cliff just to add those adjacent areas into the mix.

I'm not sure if his rage also attacks friendly troops and heroes, it might.
Other monsters seem to be his weakness since rage does not work against them and that seems to be his best way to kill some units.
Best way to deal with him seems to be blocking him with a monster too strong for him to kill.

There's no mention of enemy heroes and troops, so yes.

About the mini : I find the pose/the mini a bit massive but I think it's not easy to judge with just one view. The details on it are nice. I'll certainly find some way to use it outside of MBP

Cheap, 5 activations - these are certainly some of the high points of this unit.
He has got Torment and Climb which are 2 very good talents in my opinion. -1 defense is very useful against very high defense I suppose and climb allows to pursue target but also to perform his rage at range 1.
I am not quite sure about Cannibalism because: 1/ Lycaon needs to be at 4 vitality or less (so he is weakened) and 2/ killing a unit (whole troop not just one mini) is not very common in the game, I guess.
Rage: free area attack but only humans and possibly ally units. Lycaon looks like a counter pick if the opponent is drafting a human army.
With his speed and activations, he could also bring back some omphalos. Versatile.
Good pick for 2RP.

He can only use Cannibalism if he's wounded because it would be pointless for him to regain vitality if he wasn't. To be honest, Lycaon's stats are very well suited for killing troops and perhaps even weaker utility monsters/heroes, so I don't think dealing the killing blow will be too hard for him.
I'd say if you choose Lycaon as a first pick against Hades/Persephone, you'll be just about guaranteed to get full use out of him.

My mistake, it is not free: it is an alternate attack (lightning symbol).
So it makes sense that it doesn't require an AoW card.
