He does not seem to great.. Sure he is harder to catch and that kerykeion ability is usefull, but he has a weak attack for a god and has nothing at all to help his own forces.
Sure he can activate a lot, but unless your opponent has lots of cards he can't do more than gather omphalos with it, and that can easily be countered by putting forces there to wait for him.
He really needs some ability that affects the movement of his own troops, or perhaps a healing ability since he is associated with that too.

I actually think he is really handy... considering hand management. It doesnt matter that you only have 1 AoW card.. because.. you play it.. and bam.. you have five more cards.. while simultaniously... crippling your opponent out of two cards (that is great!)

"The Uncatchable" Hermes is a very unusual God. He isn't very strong (although he has Initiative), has no special attacks and his main strengths seem to be walking unhinderd across the map (4 movement!!) and get new cards when he runs out of them.
Would seem to be the perfect Omphalos runner. He can't be blocked, webbed, chained .. he has 5 activation cards .. what else would you have him do?
You just need to compose an army to protect him a bit while he runs around. I see him summoning Troops a lot to Guard him. Or get a Chimera to cause some distraction.

I just hate how static the model looks. This pose does absolutely nothing to convey the incredible speed and makes him look like he's trying to run through waist-high mud.

Unhindered? His powers states nothing about being able enter an area occupied by enemy units without stopping? That's not a unit power, talent or terrain feature, it's just a movement rule. At least as far as i can tell.
